Community Outreach.

The ability of our youth participants to contribute to the greater community is a way of character building, team work and life experience development. Which has a direct impact on our educational development programs.

Importance of the Initiative: A backpack is one of the most important items one can provide to a homeless individual, as it contains basic necessities for survival and subsistence. In Georgia, there are almost 9,500 people homeless on a given night1. A recent study reported 3,300 of the homeless in Atlanta were youths and were at high risk of human trafficking.

Our Goal is to build 10+ backpacks each quarter (40+ each year) to homeless individuals in the metro Atlanta area. We will partner with a local homeless shelter or organization to distribute the backpacks.

Community Garden

Our youth participants maintain a community for the benefit of local food pantries. In addition to learning about the science behind agriculture, and other benefits which include:

  • Learning where our food comes from

  • Promoting a healthily lifestyle and cleaner environment

  • Fostering a positive environment for the youth to interact with a diversity of people from the community while building a stronger community
